Why Fez deserves its own trip

Fez is already a major travel experience with a strong culinary identity. Morocco’s tourism office describes the historic medina as central to the city and specifically urges visitors not to leave without tasting Fez gastronomy.

Official Moroccan tourism material also names khliî in connection with Fez and places the city among Morocco’s tempting culinary destinations. That gives Fez a strong food identity without pretending the city owns every northern or central pantry tradition.

A completely different Morocco trip

Fez is not the Atlantic route and it is not the Agadir road trip. It is the option for travelers who want the old medina, dense craft traditions and a city where food is part of the cultural identity from the start.

For now, Fez works well as its own destination. If the olive and pantry geography later supports a stronger multi-stop journey, it can also become the anchor for a northern route.
